Outpatient Surgery
This assessment will evaluate your knowledge and ability to analyze a situation in an outpatient facility and professional setting and assign the appropriate ICD-10-CM diagnoses and Current Procedure Terminology (CPT) procedure codes. Code assignment should be in accordance with Outpatient Coding Guidelines and the instructions and conventions of the aforementioned classification systems. Your knowledge and implementation of modifiers and the Outpatient Prospective Payment System will also be evaluated. Assign ICD-10-CM and CPT codes that appropriately capture the information documented to the highest specificity and assign the appropriate modifier(s) as necessary.

Inpatient
This assessment will evaluate your knowledge and ability to analyze a situation in an inpatient setting and assign the appropriate ICD-10-CM diagnoses and ICD-10-PCS procedure codes. Code assignment should be in accordance with inpatient coding guidelines and the instructions and conventions of the aforementioned classification systems. Assign ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes that appropriately capture the information documented to the highest specificity.

Clinical Documentation Improvement
This assessment will evaluate your knowledge and ability to analyze inpatient medical records from a clinical perspective to identify relevant diagnoses and procedures and the selection of the principal and secondary diagnoses. You should have knowledge of provider queries and how to achieve complete and accurate documentation while addressing any documentation discrepancies. Knowledge of MS-DRG assignments, ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS will also be evaluated.
